Job Offer in Spain

Now that you have been offered a job position in Spain, the next question is: what are the following steps?

The first thing you will be asked to obtain is your NIE (Número de Identificación de Extranjero), which identifies you with the Spanish National Police.

Once you have your NIE, you will need to apply for a Social Security Number, since you will contribute to your pension and the Public Health System. This number is called the NUSS (Número Único de la Seguridad Social), also known as the NAF (Número de Afiliación).

You will need the NUSS to register with Social Security when you start working and to access pensions, subsidies, and other benefits. The Health System of your Autonomous Community will also use it to register your health card and grant you access to healthcare services.

To apply for your NUSS you will need to book an appointment (cita previa) with the INSS by calling these telephone numbers 91 541 25 30 or 901 10 65 70 and you will be requested to fill in the Form TA.1 with your personal details and attach a copy of your passport or national ID (for EU nationals).

If you need your  and cannot find an available appointment, contact us — we can apply for both your NIE and Social Security Number on your behalf.
